Solid foundations.
The PAVERDECK™ system may be installed on frost concrete footings, heilcal steel piles, floating deck pads, or ledgered to the house. Check with your local building officials for proper footing sizes and connection details. Where frost footings are used, we recommend using a footing form at the based of a column form.
Self-drilling self-tapping fasteners.
The PAVERDECK™ system is assembled in a nested arrangement using approved hex-head self-drilling and tapping galvanized steel fasteners, such as Drill-X or Tek brands.
Beams are supplied.
The PAVERDECK™ system is supplied with approved galvanized structural beams, or traditional structural iron beams.
Angles and Curves are not a problem.
A deck using the PAVERDECK™ system may be designed with curves or angles, similar to wood structures. Actually, the 39-inch cantilever with our system is an advantage over wood when designing curves or angles. The steel structure may be cut either before or after assembly using a standard skilsaw with a metal-cutting blade (such as Diablo brand), or gas cutoff saw with an abrasive cutting wheel. Adhesive and Screws.
Stone or concrete pavers may be adhered around the deck perimeter using a polyurethane adhesive, such as PL Premuim brand. Field stone or concrete pavers are dry-laid on top of a builder fabric and locked together using polymeric sand.
PVC fascia may be installed using stainless steel or galvanized self-tappling self-drilling screws. Use a pilot hole where possible.
